G is for Graphic Tees

If I am allowed to have one fashion guilty pleasure, it's gonna be graphic tees. I love them. I have a special soft spot in my fashionable heart for them. I probably own more of them than I should, but like I said, guilty pleasure.

Now, you're probably wondering how you can incorporate a graphic tee into your day-to-day work wardrobe. The answer is discretely and sometimes down-right sneakily.

Most corporate offices will not allow you to wear graphic tees, except maybe on Casual Friday. I still want you to be careful; don't wear a t-shirt covered in glitter or has unicorns all over it. That would be dress code suicide. Choose a graphic tee that is mostly one solid color and maybe some embellishments around the neckline and pair it with a sweater or a jacket. Avoid wearing it on it's own; too obvious.

Two big no-no's to consider: a) DO NOT WEAR A GRAPHIC TEE UNDER A SUIT. It is totally unprofessional and you will not get hired if you wear it to an interview. b) Do not wear a graphic tee with a brand name plastered across it, again not very professional.

To rule out any potential mishaps, maybe it's best to leave the graphic tees for the weekend.

  1. I love the graphic tee as well. What I can't stand is the graphic tee that spells out a label or designer. For example, the worst is a shirt that says, "Hi! I bought this shirt at American Eagle. I must have great style because I sport a shirt that says the name of a trendy store on it in a cRaZy font!" That has to be my biggest pet peeve!
